Semiconductor Company Got Team Building Facilitator Certification

Context


After hiring Open Quest to do a team building workhop, X company, which is located in Hsinchu Scientific Park, saw the value of holding this kind of workshop more frequently, and therefore invited Open Quest to help develop their internal facilitator team, to fulfill their more and more need on team building in the next few years.

The Process


X company selected the trainees very carefully, including both people from human resource department and leaders from other departments. After interviews, Open Quest made adjustment and nailed down the process.

When the training program started, trainees are not familiar not only with the profession but also with each other. But the the traning program itself was a good team building process. As the program went on, trainees turned their mood from unfamiliarity to white-hot on learning. Preparing for the real case is the part making the trainees most nervous, because this would test whether they can use their learning on the real scenarios. They felt up and down with their performance in each stage of interview, design and facilitation. Everyone grew rapidly during those months. Some of them felt they'd become close partners.

The Result


After the four month intensive training, 2/3 of participants got the ability certification. X company considered them as important internal resource and encourage departments to use it. Those who didn't pass the test felt depressed but they realized this measured their current ability, not their potential in the future. Some of them is determined to continue their learning to be more competent.

Certified facilitators started to facilitate small team building programs in the company. And then the company acquired a factory. The facilitators were on time to service the need for holding events caused by this acquisition. Feeling the need of enhancing skills, the facilitators continued their learning by developing their learning network, in order to support development of various groups and teams in the company.

Some of them still have contact with trainers. Even after they quit their job to another company, they still like to raise questions to their trainers.
